| In memory of Kumar... I am going on the Orange County AIDS Walk 2008! Please check my Facebook status so you can find the link to my awesome web page for the walk! C'mon, get with the program!

| I haven't been really proactive in updating this Xanga, perhaps because I use the standard "I'm too busy" excuse, which doesn't make sense considering all the time I spend on Facebook!
But here I am, again!
Still in Southern California. Had an amazing visit with my mum, who came here for a tragically short visit of five days and four nights. But the shortness of it was assuaged by the visit of my old Japanese classmate from my high school in Tokyo. She has been staying with me for two weeks while she is on business buying a bunch of fashion products to sell online in back home in Japan. I have never had so many Victoria Secret, Abercrombie and Fitch, Milena's, Kitson, Marc Jacobs, Junk Food, Salvatore Ferragamo, and L'Occitane products in my room before! But it is fun to see what she buys each day.
I am now in the middle of writing a book report. It's not the most elegant prose ever to come from the thoughts of moi, but...it will do for now.
Honestly, I don't have too much to report, besides that school is becoming more busy as I have about a month-and-a-half left. And I subbed all last week in Orange County, mostly as a paraeducator but did some sub teaching too! That was fun. I have my orientation for sub teaching in LA County in May.
Wednesday, I started seeing a deaf Christian counselor and I think things will work out with her. I'm heading back to see her next week.
Nothing much else to report...
That's all, folks!

| Well, it's been awhile! My second semester of grad school here in Southern California is over one-third done already! Whoa. It's a bit easier academic-wise than last semester, which is pretty nice. I have subbed once as a paraeducator at a deaf program at a middle school in Irvine, which was a blast. I am working on becoming a sub teacher for both LA and Orange counties. I am starting to see a counselor for several issues as I've been struggling with depression and worrisome thoughts. But I know I will be fine someday, so I am already looking forward to that. I thank God for not giving up on me.
Cool story: For the last few months, I've wanted my mum to come visit me to see my life here in SoCal. A couple weeks ago when I was particularly struggling, I asked mum when her spring break was. She told me and it was to my delight that it coincides with mine. So I asked her to come. She said she had already considered that but that it was not affordable. For the last few days we brainstormed about her coming but it seemed like it would not work out. Mum then said she would pray for 80,000 yen to come to her by Sunday night. To our delight, a day or two later, someone gave her 100,000 yen and she's coming to California to see me in two weeks. It's an understatement to say I am excited! | | |
| I love living in California, even if boys are stupid.

| This post is to make tamaharu happy and to tell everyone else what's up.
Life is pretty good here in SoCal. I am getting to know the lay of the land more and I'm not too nervous about driving on the freeways. I've gotten to see a lot so far. Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, San Diego, and so forth.
School: My classes are Economy, Society and Values; Historical Development of the World Christian Movement; and Hermeneutics and Bible Study Methods. I am also a teaching assistant for an undergrad course in Cultural Anthropology. I actually like that better than the classes I'm taking for credit. Oh well. Work: Still don't have one. Granted, I've not been spending as much time as I should be for job-searching. I did apply to Borders Bookstore in La Habra. That would be kinda fun. Starbucks apparently rejected me. Sigh... Church: I've been church-hopping. I liked RockHarbor in Costa Mesa, but I have my heart set at going to a deaf church. I went to Calvary Community Deaf Church in Norwalk. I think I will give that one another try. Friends: I'm slowly making some. I had some from before and that has helped a lot. My housemates are nice but they are busy and out of the house most of the time.
And that's about it. Peace.
Here's a picture of me. This is at a rest area in Arizona.
